Sarah’s creative journey has circled the globe — from designing digital experiences that delight millions, to now shaping clay with her own hands. After a dynamic career crafting user-friendly worlds on screens, she’s reinvented herself as a maker of tactile, ocean-inspired vessels.
Her interest in the natural world — its patterns, forms, and quiet details — continues to shape her work. Whether cycling along the bayside or walking through local bushland, time outdoors offers both inspiration and clarity, which she brings back to the studio.
During the pandemic, Sarah was living in Zimbabwe — a land far from the coast but rich in its own textures and rhythms. Landlocked in lockdown, days became long hours at the wheel, carving and shaping in a small studio. That time of quiet creation planted seeds of longing for the ocean.
Now based in Meanjin (Brisbane), her ceramics reflect a growing interest in slowness, grounding and the quiet emergence of form through making. Each piece explores form, texture and balance — quiet expressions of the places she’s lived and the experiences she carries.
